Our afternoon Tea by the Sea is a local institution. This is the time to catch up with friends against a backdrop of ocean views and soft music.

Our afternoon teas are generous by any standards. Among the treats we serve are cream scones with strawberry jam, decadent lemon meringue tartlets, cupcakes, mini koeksisters, and finger sandwiches – two of each, all beautifully arranged on a magnificent three-tier cake stand. A beautiful Saturday morning saw us meeting up for breakfast with some friends at Azure restaurant at the 12 Apostles Hotel. To begin with, the drive along Victoria Road and the coast line is stunning. So you’re almost guaranteed to arrive at the hotel in a good mood. On top of this, parking is easy, and available at the hotel itself, so there isn’t any of the fighting for a spot that takes place in the city. Another point in the favour of Azure.

The restaurant itself is located at the front of the hotel, with amazing views from inside as well as the large deck. Service is impeccible, as one would expect from a hotel of this calibre, and interiors are both interesting and sophisticated.

Breakfast offers an a la carte menu or buffet but believe me, you want to try the buffet. Azure certainly knows how to make sure your options are endless, presenting everything from fruits, yoghurts, breads and cereals to cold meats, eggs, sausages, bacon, potatoes, oysters and more. I challenge you to want to anything! Of course, there are also a variety of drinks from juices to teas and coffees.

Definitely worth a trip - spoil yourself and take a relaxing morning for you and some friends, or partner.

Beat the winter blues with Wang Thai’s curry festival. Prices start at R75 for chicken and beef curries, and R90 for duck, prawn and lamb curries, including steamed jasmine rice and a glass of wine.

Stop thinking that you can’t get good value for money when eating out, and try La Boheme’s set menu. For two courses you’ll fork out only R90 and for three, R110.

The EA Crew have tried LA Boheme a while ago and had this to say;

“It is very rare that everyone enjoys both Starter and Main but tonight was one of those nights, in fact “I’m in love” was muttered on multiple occasions and we hadn’t even reached desserts yet!

So, having sampled 8 great dishes we decided to consider our dessert options: Crème Brûlée, Croissant Pudding, Chocolate Cake, Malva Pudding, Poached Pears, Chocolate & Coffee Liquor Crépes and Tiramisu. The conversation went something like this: “Sigh, so hard to choose, if only we could have all of them… Oh wait, they’re only R20 each! We’ll take 1 of each!”. Yes, that’s right; we ordered 7 desserts.”
