The beginning of the local asparagus season is a highlight in the Stellenbosch foodie calendar. This spring Bodega @ Dornier Wines’ chef, Neil Norman, will be celebrating this healthy, delicately flavored aphrodisiac by creating numerous fresh culinary delights with wine pairing from 16th September 2011 – 15th October 2011.
Try delicious dishes, such as asparagus risotto or smoked salmon and asparagus blinis, paired with the excellent Dornier wines. They invite you join them for this memorable experience that will bring together the flavors of the natural surroundings and tantalize your taste buds.

With Rugby World Cup fever upon us, here are some of the places you could enjoy the game and grub.
Arnold’s
The Chef’s Breakfast, consisting of scrambled eggs, bacon, ostrich chipolata, grilled tomato, mushrooms, potato wedges, baked beans, toast and jam, for only R35. This hearty meal comes with either a cappuccino, fresh orange juice or a Castle Lite.
For something sweet, try the the Flapjack Stack. These freshly made pancakes are laced with bacon slices, banana and maple syrup, and cost R35.
Also try Swannie’s Roosterbrood, a braai baked bread roll served with butter, jam and grated cheese.This comes with a Castle Lite, and costs only R25.
And those who don’t want to miss even the early kick offs, can enjoy an Early Bird Breakfast for R11 if they make it before 07h00, from Monday to Friday. Biltong will be made available as a snack during the games for only R18.
Barrister’s
Barrister’s will be showing all the games that start after 6.00am! So come and shout for the Boks whilst you enjoy our delicious breakfasts.

Bascule Bar
During the Rugby World Cup, Bascule will be serving a South African Breakfast which will be available from 08h00, or 07h00 when required for earlier games.
The breakfast will consist of Scrambled Eggs, Mushrooms, Boerewors, Chakalaka, Selection of toast and Tea or Coffee for R55.
Bascule offers 3 flat screen TVs in the lounge area and 2 in the bar section. Games starting in the very early hours will not be shown because of the time, unless requested.
Caveau (Newlands)
For the duration of the RWC, Caveau will be offering their daily breakfast speical of a full English breakfast. Tuck into scrambled egg, bacon, beef sausage, mushrooms, tomato and toast with either a Peroni, coffee, tea or juice for only R60.
On ‘Big Game’ days, a reduced breakfast menu of Caveau egg benedict, French toast, muesli fruit and yoghurt, the fruit platter and the RWC breakfast special will be on offer.
Gourmet Burger
Gourmet Burgers will be offering three tasty specials for you to tackle during the Rugby World Cup.
Try the full English breakfast of scrambled egg, bacon, beef sausage, mushrooms, tomato and toast for only R60, and get a Peroni, coffee, tea or juice with your meal.
For later in the day, tuck into a steak, egg and chips, borrowed from the HQ kitchens, for R95 or a delicious bacon and egg beef burger, complete with chips R60.
A reduced breakfast menu will be offered on selected game days, and Gourmet Burger will be open on the following Sunday, the 11th September, 16th October and 23rd October.
