Just a few short weeks ago Blonde restaurant celebrated its “unofficial opening” and already diners around Cape Town are sitting up paying notice, ourselves included.

Set in a 100 year old Victorian building in Gardens this restaurant is brought to us by the same group that brought us Beluga and Sevruga; The Caviar Group of Restaurants. Their passion for the dining experience and the needs of their guests comes through as clearly in this new restaurant as it does in the others and you’re sure to feel welcome and well looked after.

Interiors are crisp and elegant with subtle marble floors, renovated wood floors and ceilings while large glass entrance doors, a chandelier and bold apholstry brings a touch of glamour. Hostesses, managers and waiting staff complete this image in gold bodices, tux shirts and stunning evening dresses.

The menu is selective, and has been called a little pricy, but you’re sure to find something to suit any mood. Some must tries are the Spice-Fried Baby Calamari Starter, White Onion Velouté Starter, Confit Duck Leg Roll Main, Slow-Cooked Lamb Shank Pie and of course, the desserts, all of which have their own appeal.

Operating Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 18H30 to late

There are also rumours of a ghost in the upstairs section, so keep an eye out!
